Access

The Archives exist to serve the originating institutions and their successors.  It may also serve the interests of scholars, researchers and casual readers whose activities and interests may be related to the College and the Institution of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.  

The Archives is open to all members of the Lasallian community and the general public but arrangements must be made in advance for access to the collections.  Arrangements to use the Archives must be made verbally or in writing and must include the purpose of the research and the scope of the records to be consulted.

Restrictions

The following general factors may be considered in granting access:

  • records containing information that might infringe or violate personal privacy;
  • records containing information that might be considered detrimental to the College or the Institute;
  • departmental or office records containing information which might be considered confidential.

Personal collections donated by individuals and oral histories will be subject to the terms of access negotiated directly between the Archives and the donor or interviewee.

All archival collections are housed in closed stacks, accessible only to archival staff.
